In 1996, Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona became the first hotel in Spain to hold an art fair, organized by Associació Art Barcelona where both national and international galleries displayed a collection of paintings by young or relatively unknown artists in 60 rooms. Within four days, the exhibition was visited by ten thousand people, making it a successful event. The hotel hosted a second edition of the fair in 1997 before its renovation, it took place in four floors and was visited by eleven thousand people in three days, with many established artists donating their work to the charity. These exhibitions have helped promote the hotel’s reputation as a gateway to Barcelona’s artistic heritage among worldwide travellers.

Santiago with an apostolic man: created in the fifteenth century by the Valencian painter Gonçal Peris Sarriá, who was a modernizer of the international gothic art, he created a refined precocity typical of the most international schools, differing from the Valencian one who was the most important school in the peninsula at that time.
Crepúsculo (Twilight): painted by Modest Urgell, one of the greatest Spanish artists in the nineteenth century, and an inspiration to Dalí and Miró. His work was a synthesis of learned realism but with a romantic interpretation, He participated in some of the largest exhibitions in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Munich, Olot among others, receiving a lot of recognition.
Leyendo la carta (Reading the Letter): painted Dionís Baixeras, an eminently naturalist artist a very realistic, detailed, and meticulous painting style. His work decorated the auditorium of the University of Barcelona. The Fourth Council of Toledo, presided over by Saint Isidoro of Seville; the Civilization of the Caliphate of Cordoba during the time of Abd al-Rahman III; Alfonso X the Wise surrounded by his collaborators, to name a few.
