Dubai, –: The Merchant House, Bahrain’s first boutique hotel to be awarded a five-star rating, is enticing travellers to try something new on their next visit to Bahrain. The Campbell Gray Hotel offers 46 luxury suites, a rooftop garden restaurant, a stunning library with a curated collection of thousand books, gym and spa all complemented by a team that delivers highly personalized and quality service. It is a true jewel in the heart of Manama’s old town and the ideal place for both business and leisure travellers.
Adding even more reasons to plan a visit to The Merchant House, the hotel has just launched a Friday Brunch with a difference as well as a traditional Afternoon T.
The Afternoon T is inspired by the tradition of the English afternoon tea and borrows some of Gordon Campbell Gray’s grandmother’s traditional recipes such as the thinly sliced mini sandwiches and freshly baked scones served with homemade strawberry preserve and clotted cream. The Afternoon T also draws influences from the silk route history of Bahrain as a trading hub connecting East to West and so features spices and flavours of the region such as fresh ginger, fruits, dates and nuts. The Afternoon T will be served in The Library, a beautiful, elegant space with a modern classic atmosphere. The Afternoon T will be available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2.00pm to 5.30pm.
Indigo Rooftop Restaurant offers a distinctive ambiance for a refreshingly different Friday Brunch on its beautiful rooftop garden terrace. The much-acclaimed Chef Robert Shipman has created an exciting menu, pairing interesting flavors and ingredients that are authentic to both Mediterranean and Asian cuisines such as Poached Eggs served with Salsa Verde and Grilled Halloumi to Salmon Avocado Roll and Seabass Sashimi. The brunch also features signature mocktails and beverages, all served at the table.
The Merchant House houses a collection of over 200 pieces of original artwork from both international and local artists. Guests are sure to be comfortable in the hotel’s cosy atmosphere, with travellers enjoying the in-house facilities at PureGray Spa to relax and unwind. The Spa provides a range of bespoke holistic treatments for those looking to switch off after a long day.
Everything in the hotel is individually designed from the furniture to the fabrics to the striking graphic screens in the suites and the dramatic graffiti pillar in the lobby. There’s nothing safe about the decor; every corner is an impact on the senses.
The hotel made its debut in February this year and has already scooped two coveted awards including the Boutique Hotel of the Year at the Leaders in Hospitality Awards 2019 by Hotel & Catering News Middle East, and the Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year at the LTG Africa and Middle East Awards.
The Merchant House is the ideal place to stay in Bahrain for the modern traveller looking for something different from the normal hotel experience.
