Visa applications resumed Spain welcomes the return of Saudi tourists

Riyadh-: Spain boosted its tourism by opening its borders again to visitors from Saudi Arabia and most parts of Europe without the need to adhere to quarantine procedures, and relying only on certificates of approved vaccines and PCR test.

Spain usually attracts about 100,000 tourists a year from Saudi Arabia for tourism, work and medical treatment purposes. Tourism supports the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) by up to 12 percent, hence, the country sees the reopening of the holiday market as summer season begins as an important step in supporting the country’s economy.

Those coming from Saudi Arabia will be subject to quick health checkup measures, including measuring body temperature and will be required to present their vaccine certificate along with a certified PCR test.

On this occasion, Nidal Kamouni, CEO of BLS International, the company specialized in processing tourist and visit visas to the Kingdom of Spain in Saudi Arabia, expressed his delight with the announcement coming from Spain reopening its borders and airports to tourists and visitors from Saudi Arabia, and said: “Spain expects to receive about 45 million foreign tourists in 2021, i.e. slightly more than half the number of people who visited the country in 2019, according to a statement issued by Spanish official sources yesterday. We, as a company who is responsible for facilitating visa services , have completed all preparations in our offices accross Saudi Arabia to receive applications for Spain and Europe visas in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province.”

He concluded, “We have begun to witness high demand for visa applications to Spain in view of the high level of assurances from the competent authorities , as well as the increasing level of Vaccination in Saudi Arabia which will allow visitors to travel comfortably and safely.”

According to international news agencies, Spanish official sources have indeed reported that they optimistically expect that Spain will be able to get back more than half of the foreign visitors it received in 2019.”

Spain is the second largest global destination for tourists, with 83.5 million foreign tourists in 2019, according to official figures. Official sources confirmed that “Spain is ready to reopen its doors to the world”, in an event to launch the promotional campaign for the summer season, which is aimed mainly at those wishing to travel again to Spain this year after a long period of travel restrictions.
