Starting from the 6th of September, citizens and residents of 13 more countries – China, Estonia, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Croatia, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Japan – are able to travel to Azerbaijan under the following conditions:
- submission of an official document (COVID passport) on complete vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 for passengers over 18 years of age and a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before the flight
- submission of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before the flight for passengers aged from 1 to 18 years
“With this latest addition, Azerbaijan now accepts citizens and residents of 42 countries. This is a very positive improvement as we gradually see that the ongoing vaccination and solid travel protocols applied in the country allowed to ease the restrictions and resume traveling to Azerbaijan. We look forward to welcoming international travelers in our beautiful country and offering them a wide range of new tourism products and activities developed for the post-pandemic era”, said Florian Sengstschmid, the CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
From September 1, new regulations are implemented aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus – to enter catering facilities, shopping centers and hotels, people over 18 years old must present a COVID-19 passport confirming vaccination or full recovery from COVID-19. Tourists should keep in mind that malls and shopping centers, museums and exhibition halls are operational, while catering facilities are open every day from 6am till midnight. It is also important to remember that wearing masks is mandatory in public transportation, as well as in closed catering and trade facilities.
