Promoting ‘2019 Arab Tourism Capital’

RIYADH — The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) has announced “Al-Ahsa Media Challenge” competition focusing on “tourism media”.

The competition calls for the finest media work addressing “Al-Ahsa 2019 Arab Tourism Capital” locally and in the Arab world. This award comes in line with the 22nd session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Al-Ahsa, to be held between Dec. 22-23.

The “Al-Ahsa Media Challenge” aims to highlight tourism, civilizational and human heritage that characterizes “Al-Ahsa” dating back to more than 5,000 years.

This challenge is part of the SCTH’s strategic vision, to achieve the goals of the executive 2030 Vision programs “Quality of Life ” and “Strengthen the National Identity”, motivating Saudi and Arab journalists to submit their best creative content on different media platforms that highlight Al-Ahsa status as “The 2019 Arab Capital of Tourism”, in particular, and the Kingdom, in general, as a tourism and heritage destination in the Arab world and globally.

The competition jury announced Dec. 25 as the deadline for submitting the participants material via this e-mail (Alahsamedia@scth.gov.sa).

The winners’ names will be announced in the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage official Twitter account @scthKSA on Dec. 31, 2019.

The competition jury set four standards for accepting participants’ material: including the media messages publicized in the Arab Ministerial Tourism Meeting, highlighting the tourism heritage dimension of Al-Ahsa and linking it to the WTO indicators, featuring the Kingdom’s position as an Arab and international heritage tourism destination, promoting Al-Ahsa as the “2019 Arab Tourism Capital”, and identifying the informative investigative effort exerted in the submitted materials.

The award secretariat stressed on the significance of participants’ compliance with the declared standards and criteria set by the jury, which include sending the “press”posts in a PDF format with a link to the published material, and for “photographs” to be provided in PNG format, with the link to the publisher.
