Guests can expect the traditional lucky Chinese knot alongside a limited edition speciality menu, utilising ingredients traditionally designed to reflect good health and usher in fortune for the year ahead. The auspicious experience will be available from 25th January to 8th February 2020.
In synergy with Hakkasan’s rich tapestry of traditions, upheld across its venues globally the venue is set to transform into a true feast for the senses. The Chinese lucky knot signifying good luck and a prosperous life will be embraced, the intricate wooden interiors adorned with red wishing ribbons and holiday menus will feature the knot symbol. “We invite our guests to write their wishes on red ribbons – the red colour is considered a symbol of joy – to hang around the restaurant, wishing them hope, happiness, luck and fortune on the special occasion.” comments Milos Zekovic, Operations Manager Middle East.
Representative of celebratory blessings, delectable Chinese cuisine comprises the limited edition signature three-course set menu, priced at AED 498 per person. Meticulously designed by Corporate Executive Chef Andrew Yeo, the immersive culinary experience showcases his creative culinary expertise and theatrical flair.
Unmissable highlights include the Golden treasure pockets with abalone and wild mushrooms, a finely fried dumpling decorated with gold leaf. The shape of the dumpling resembles a money bag, a reflection of the advent of wealth in the new year, and the gold color symbolises riches; and the Wok-fry Scottish scallop with taro mousseline and brown butter black bean sauce, the scallops symbolising new opportunities, making them a prized dish during Chinese New Year.
The centerpiece of the menu is the indulgent and eye-catching Lucky Jie dessert, presented as a lucky Chinese knot to signify good fortune for the year ahead. The Lucky Jie is a salted caramel ganache with mandarin, chili and cocoa.
For the perfect accompaniment, guests can sip Hakkasan’s signature cocktail Cheng Zi made with Diplomático Mantuano rum, chili-infused Velvet Falernum, mandarin and chocolate sherbet.
Renowned for elevated ambiance, soothing tunes will be performed daily with residents and visitors invited to dine indoors or on the elegant and spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the Abu Dhabi’s landmarks.
The celebrations will start with a specially themed, Chinese New Year Hakkatini Wednesday evening on Wednesday 22nd January, the one-of-a-kind weekly night the capital, promises fashion, artistry, socialising, live DJ sounds and musical entertainment on the Hakkasan terrace. Guests can enjoy the curated Hakkatini Wednesday experience with two signature beverages and a Hakkasan bite for AED 96.
