Riga. Latvian airline airBaltic invites travellers from Abu Dhabi to visit the Baltic region by offering convenient direct flights four times per week to Latvia’s capital Riga.
Winter season flights from Abu Dhabi to Riga resumed at the beginning of October 2019. Like previous year, four weekly flights will be operated until March 28, 2020, but following the strong demand on this route the schedule will be extended with three weekly flights until April 27, 2020.
In total, airBaltic expects a traffic growth on the route by 14% over the winter 2019/2020. Wolfgang Reuss, SVP Network Management of airBaltic: “Abu Dhabi route has shown a strong demand, making it viable to extend the flights to the end of April. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the second-largest city in the country. Therefore this route has a potential not only for leisure but also for business travellers. Our passengers can travel to both cities for very attractive prices in the economy or our full-service business class on the new and comfortable Airbus A220-300 aircraft which is one of the quietest and greenest aircraft in its class.”
Over the years, Abu Dhabi has been a very popular winter destination for leisure travellers from Latvia. However, travellers from Abu Dhabi can also benefit from this route enjoying the nordic nature of the Baltic region and its beautiful cities with medieval charm and modern flair. Latvia’s 500 km long coastline never ceases to surprise with its dunes, cliffs, sandstone outcrops, impressive rocks and caverns. Latvia is also one of the greenest countries in Europe with forests covering more than 50% of the country’s territory.
