Founded by and named after celebrated Japanese chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, in partnership with legendary Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, Nobu Jeddah is part of Tarfeeh Fakieh’s impressive portfolio of upscale cuisine that helped shape the Red Sea city’s identity of diverse foods and beverages.
Taking its place among other gourmet Fakieh food and café brands at Al Nawras Resort, Jeddah’s iconic resort that overlooks the city’s most beautiful waterfront vistas, Nobu Jeddah will not only bring its fabulous menu to the beachfront but will also offer an elevated casual dining experience with stunning seaside views.
The Nobu brand of fine Japanese cuisine owes its worldwide success to fresh, high-quality ingredients and a unique concept that blends Japanese and South American cuisine.
Saleh Al-Turki, the Mayor of Jeddah, was pleased with the Nobu brand’s choice of the city as the place for its debut in the Kingdom.
“Nobu is the just kind of restaurant that is worthy of a such location,” he remarked after the opening ceremony on the 27th of December, 2021, Simultaneously appreciating Tarfeeh Fakieh’s efforts in developing Al-Nawras Island.
In his welcoming speech to the Mayor and attendees of the opening, Sheikh Abdulrahman Fakieh, President of Fakieh Hospitality & Leisure Group, said that Nobu Restaurant is the latest addition to the group’s billion-dollar portfolio of fine dining, tourism, and entertainment brands.
“Today, with unending support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, we continue to renew and add to our portfolio and become a key player in the drive to meet the objectives set for the tourism and entertainment sectors in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” said Sheikh Abdulrahman in a speech at the ceremony. “We started with a 400-million-riyal reinvention of Al Nawras Island to make it a prime destination for Jeddah’s residents and visitors, complete with a kilometer-long walkable boulevard, a yacht club, and a 112-meter-wide sandy beach that can serve as many as two million visitors a year.”
Jamil Attar, Chief Executive Officer of Tarfeeh Fakieh, was just as enthusiastic about the new opening, saying that Nobu Restaurant would bring the brand’s world-renowned dining experience to locals and visitors right on the seaside.
“Because Jeddah is home to world-class dining, we are pleased to offer a spirited take on the signature Nobu experience in a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.”
Nobu Jeddah, Attar explained, is decorated with a modern design in a prime location on the Jeddah Corniche so that restaurant patrons may enjoy a wonderful view of the Red Sea.
Matsuhisa, the celebrity restauranteur, partner, and chef in charge of the kitchen at Nobu Jeddah, said that the opening of his namesake restaurant is a new challenge and adventure that he looks forward to seeing through.
