Republic represents Dubai’s perfect Holi-coloured hangout, promising to take guests’ tastebuds on a journey across modern India with exclusive street-food and delicious drinks
Dubai, UAE –: Republic, Business Bay’s newest adda, opens its doors at DoubleTree by Hilton. The Holi-coloured hangout promises an affordable social space for people to gather, drink, have fun, and eat some of the freshest, most flavoursome Indian cuisine in Dubai – all while taking in incredible views of Burj Khalifa from the venue’s terrace.
Chef Nagbushan has replicated and reinvented India’s old street-food favourites to create a sharing-style menu that takes guests’ tastebuds on a culinary journey from Ahmedabad to Amritsar, Kolkata to Kochi. Whether it’s Black-out Samosas or Beetroot Baos, each of the contemporary desi bites provide an explosion of flavour, while the Indian-inflected mocktails and cocktails are crafted in-house by the team’s talented bar staff.
The Indian and South Asian-inspired décor immediately grabs the eye: A classic tuk-tuk greets guests at the entrance, the ceiling is covered with lanterns and patterned umbrellas, and around the venue lie bangle boards, funky pop art and an Indian-style whisky-led bar. Republic’s vibrantly colourful aesthetic is quintessentially Instagrammable and a resident DJ playing a fusion of fantastic Indian hits and commercial pop will ensure a lively buzz and fun vibes.
“In India, we use the word adda to describe a community meeting place where people gather to eat, drink, chat and have fun,” said Nagbushan Shenoy, Head Chef. “That’s what we have looked to create with Republic. It’s traditionally Indian at its core, yet it carries a modern twist, so it’s a fun mix that we believe represents the modern face of the country.
The accessible, affordable food menu has also embraced that modern twist, with multiple meat, vegan, and vegetarian options, such as Lamb Chatpat Kebabs, which feature North Indian spices served atop a South Indian Uthappam (Dosa), Black-Out Samosas, a different approach that leave typical samosas in their wake by oozing butter chicken from a charcoal pastry, and a Beet-Cake, the venue’s pride and joy vegan dish bursting with flavours from southwest India.
Open Tuesday until Sunday from 5pm to 2am, Republic offers an extensive drinks menu including whisky, draft and bottle hops, as well as dozens of classic and signature cocktails and mocktails, carrying names such as King’s Landing and Let’s Go To Kashmir.
A vast array of daily deals and promotions run during the month of February, including a Happy Hour deal on selected house beverages and cocktails, from 5pm until 8pm Tuesday to Sunday. Additionally, Pop A Bucket Thursday invites lollipop wing lovers to combine 12 wings with a bucket of local Indian hops for AED 169.
