Kyoto Winter Restaurant week 2020 Annual Culinary Event to Start

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, – : The 11th Annual Kyoto Restaurant Winter Special 2020 will be held from 1 – 29 February, 2020 and restaurants throughout Japan’s ancient capital offering gourmet delicacies through special set menus  at special prices. The event started in 2010 to promote familiarization of Kyoto food culture, boost the low season and encourage domestic and overseas tourists to easily enjoy Kyoto flavors. This year, largest number of 204 restaurants are participating.

They have great selection of shops and restaurants, from time-honored Kyoto cuisine, buckwheat noodles, eel, and Sushi, to Western-Style such as Italian and French, to grilled-meats, ingenious up-and-coming innovative cuisine and ethnic foods, which is new to the event this year , and  sweets, all offering superb dishes using strictly selected seasonal ingredients.

Prices range from: JPY2,500 (USD 23), JPY 3,500 (USD 32), JPY 5,000 (USD 46), JPY 7,500 (USD 69) JPY 10,000 (USD 92) and JPY 12,000 (USD 110).and JPY 15,000(USD137 ) inclusive of taxes and service charges.

Kyoto is a gourmet’s delight throughout the year, however it is little known that winter is the best season for many seafood varieties as well as for many vegetables produced locally around Kyoto. Seasonal produce of particular note to look out for include: seafood from the Sea of Japan, such as sea bream known as guji or aka-amadai, and matsuba crabs; as well as Kyoto vegetables such as syogoin daikon radish, kintoki carrots, and mizuna leaves to name a few.
