Nestled on the east coast of Mauritius Constance Prince Maurice and Constance Belle Mare Plage embody the best of the Indian Ocean
UAE, Dubai – With its volcanic origins, abundant nature and a coastline fringed with coral reefs, Mauritius has long been a haven for those seeking a holiday thanks to its blend of beaches backed by a green canopy of trees and mangroves. It was the reason that Constance Hotels & Resorts chose the island nation to establish their first hotel more than 40 years ago.
Constance Belle Mare Plage was the initial concept from the group in 1975, however Constance Prince Maurice was the first true venture into the five-star deluxe category with its opening in 1998. Mauritius has since provided the perfect place in which to expand the brand, bringing Constance Hotels & Resorts distinct brand of hospitality to properties across Indian Ocean archipelagos.
Situated on the white sandy beaches of Poste de Flacq and in close proximity to one another, Constance Prince Maurice and Constance Belle Mare Plage provide an interesting juxtaposition. With both properties offering world-class accommodation, expansive dining options, luxurious Constance Spas and a breath-taking array of activities both in and out of the water, the hotels provide distinct style to suit every traveller. From young families, to seasoned wanderers, romantic pairings to sun and sea enthusiasts, the properties are curated to meet every traveller’s needs.
When it comes to accommodations, guests have a choice of the all-suite concept at Constance Prince Maurice or a range of rooms, suites and villas at Constance Belle Mare Plage. The stylish rooms and suites are outfitted with contemporary furniture in warm and light colours to give a fresh, chic atmosphere, comprising luxuriant fabrics and polished woods all of which embody the natural environment for each of the hotels.
The culinary experience across both resorts is extensive and opens a world of international and Mauritian cuisine. Constance Prince Maurice is home to Le Barachois, a unique restaurant comprising five decks, floating amongst the natural fish reserve, which is reached via a wooden pathway. The combination of casual to fine dining with a selection of bars to choose from ensures that guests can enjoy a variety of flavours at either property.
With plenty of wholesome activities in Mauritius, families and couples can have fun while spending quality time together. From a safari adventure in the Casela Nature Park, which is rich with fauna and flora, home to 1,500 birds, wild animals and dromedary camels to a Sea Walk on the ocean floor, in just 3-4m of water where a world of magnificent marine life is on display, or retail therapy in the capital Port-Louis, covering small boutiques to large malls.
For golf enthusiasts there are two championship 18-hole golf courses; Legends and Links – located along one of the superb beaches in Mauritius and connected to Constance Belle Mare Plage. With beautiful landscapes and lagoons forming part of the scenery, guests have complete access, with free and unlimited green fees when staying at either hotel. Both properties also host a wide variety of activities, including many types of water sports; such as snorkeling trips, glass bottom boat excursions, and access to bicycles and two floodlit tennis courts.
Simultaneously, Constance Spa, the group’s bespoke spa experience offers an extensive range of beauty and body treatments in a state-of-the-art wellness concept. They also provide a sauna, plunge pool and steam bath and access to the gym and yoga. While enjoying the ultimate indulgent experience, children are very welcome at the “Constance Kids Club” which contains a games room, movies, and dining areas as well as supervised playground and private pool.
Mauritius is a year-round holiday hot spot. Due to its location in the Southern hemisphere, summer season runs from November through to April with temperature around 30ºc, while February and March are when the rainfall is at its heaviest, but the tropical downpours rarely last long. Winter season runs from May through to October, with temperature is still generally in the mid-20s making Mauritius perfectly balmy.
