Dubai, UAE: Swing into summer mode with the award-winning café, LDC Kitchen + Coffee (LDC).From fresh in-season ingredients to healthy salads or ice cream that just scream summer, diners can enjoy the long days and warmth of summer within the stylish and relaxing café interiors of LDC.
Have a serious love-heat relationship with summer? LDC shares five refreshing ways to keep your cool in the new sea-sun ahead.
- Eat healthy and light
The exciting food offering at LDC is light, fresh, and packed with seasonal ingredients. Replenish fluid loss during the heat of summer with fruits and vegetables that are rich in water. Start the day with the berry superfood, LDC’s Tropical Açaí Bowl (Dhs48). The delicious bowl is made of açaí puree blended with fresh berries and bananas, served with low-cal granola, dragon fruit, mangosteen, fresh berries, coconut flakes and chia seeds.
- Stay hydrated
Aim to drink at least 2 litres of water every day even when you are not feeling thirsty. Not a fan of plain water? Sip on iced coffee’s bubbly new cousin, LDC’s espresso tonic (Dhs24). Summer’s hottest tonic drink consists of double espresso shot and tonic water with a hint of lime and passion fruit.
3. Keep it indoors
When the temperature rises, get your grub delivered to the office or entertain guests at home via LDC’s catering services. Offering a range of freshly baked breads, delicate pastries, finger foods, salads and sandwiches with LDC’s signature specialty coffee, expect only premium quality catering services perfect for business meetings and events.
Get your Vitamin D
Catching the sun’s rays in a sunny office won’t help to obtain the essential “sunshine vitamin” nutrients. However, studies show that certain foods such as fatty fish and egg yolks can help increase vitamin D levels.
Choose from LDC’s Pan Roasted Salmon Fillet (Dhs78) served with fresh marinated cucumber and a gratin of slowed cooked butternut squash or Smoked Salmon Benni (Dhs63) – soft poached eggs with smoked salmon on a bed of shaved cucumber, avocado topped with tasty hollandaise sauce cushioned on a fresh, homemade English muffin – and get needed boost of energy and vitamins!
- Cool down with something hot
On a scorching summer day, reaching for a hot beverage might seem like a strange thing to do. There’s actually some evidence that drinking hot beverages when it’s hot outside could actually cool one down, and maybe even more effectively than cold beverages. Be it an Americano, Cortado, Smooth Operator or Spanish Latte, coffee lovers can maximize their break by sipping coffee slowly and relax at LDC’s welcoming venues.
Diners can also enjoy a big bowl of Little Ramen, Big Flavour (Dhs68). The rich chicken paitan ramen broth is made from scratch, slowly simmered for 24hrs, giving it a velvety texture. Finished with Japanese sesame paste and fermented chili paste, the steamy bowl is served with roast chicken tsukune, sweet corn, bamboo shoots and homemade noodles.
