Betty Crocker sets another Guinness World Records™ title for the third time

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia in celebration of Saudi Arabia’s 92nd National Day, and under this year’s theme that combines the past and the future of Saudi Arabia, under the slogan “This is Our Home”, Betty Crocker marked the occasion by the Largest Brownie ever recorded.
The world’s leading dessert mix brand teamed up with Panda Retail Company, the largest grocery chain in the region, to create the record-breaking brownie. Betty Crocker enlisted the support of 92 selected individuals from various ages, genders, and backgrounds, as an embodiment that the “The Kitchen is for everyone”!


Expressing admiration to the remarkable achievements of the Saudi nation and under the slogan of Betty Crocker “Bake it for the Nation” the achievement was unveiled yesterday on the 23rd of September at Al Andalus Mall in Jeddah, by setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the largest brownie ever. Weighing 152kg and measuring 2m wide, 2m long, 3 cm high, the brownie was made using approximately 210 boxes of Betty Crocker Brownie Mix combined with 504 eggs and 23.1 liters of oil, 9.5 liters of water which was mixed by the participants along with the Betty Crocker team.   The largest brownie was baked in a customized oven to make the record-breaking size.


Commenting on the milestone, Azfar Ul Islam, Betty Crocker Global Brand Director and Marketing Director for the Central East Europe and Middle East Africa (CEEMEA) – General Mills said: “For over 55 years of being the loved brand in Saudi Arabia and for the 3rd time, Betty Crocker is delighted to bring honor to Saudi and its people with another Guinness World Records™ title. We would like to congratulate the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and all the people of Saudi on their 92nd National Day.”
He added: “This event brings to life what our brand stands for- a brand who advocates inclusivity and breaking stereotypes in the kitchen.  And reminds the people that no matter the gender, age, or baking skill level, baking together could be fun and more than just a task, it is an act of love.”

To conform with Guinness World Records™ guidelines, the Largest Brownie had to meet specific requirements set by the organization. The Brownie was required to break the previous record title set in 2013 with 106.2 KG. After the record was verified, the brownie was cut into portions and distributed to visitors at Al Andalus Mall, and some were delivered to a non-profit organization “Saudi Food Bank” to spread the delicious moments and happiness of this momentous occasion.


The event was attended by General Mills, Panda and Basamh executives, some social media influencers, as well as an Official Adjudicator from Guinness World Records™.
