Escape to the lodge’s experiences located within the rainforest
The largest rainforest in the world is the Amazon. The forest features some of the most unique variety of plant and animal life on earth and the main gateway to this haven is the city ‘Manaus’. The rainforest has no limits and is truly fascinating.
Manaus is a charming and cultural city. The green Amazon Forest, the dark waters of Rio Negro, the muddy waters of Solimões River, exotic local cuisine, diverse architecture, and very welcoming people are some of the city’s treasures. One visit is all it takes to fall in love with the capital of Amazonas State.
Also known as Paris of the Tropics because of its intense modernization during the Amazon Rubber Boom (a period of great economic and social growth in Brazil), Manaus is located in the heart of the Amazon Forest. The city inherited beautiful buildings from the days of the Rubber Boom, and they were built with fine materials imported from Europe. The Amazonas Theater is the one that stands out, though, with a colorful dome made with 36 thousand enameled ceramic tiles.
There are plenty of wonderful attractions in Manaus. When you go for a visit, you must experience, for example, the downtown area of the city. Walking around the streets, you will be able to explore its urban environment, which tells a lot about local history. Largo de São Sebastião Square is a popular tourist spot where you will see the Abertura dos Portos Monument, the famous Amazonas Theater, lots of handicraft shops, and art galleries.
