Representing a journey of evolution for both Italian cuisine and Monno, the new tasting menu presents a collection of signature and most-cherished dishes from both land and sea
Jumeirah’s artisanal Italian restaurant, Monno has debuted a new tasting menu dining experience that presents guests with a thoughtfully curated five-course dinner prepared by Italian Head Chef Federico Bartoli and his team.
Representing a journey of evolution for both Italian cuisine and Monno, the new tasting menu presents a collection of cherished dishes from both land and sea that remain true and respectful to both ingredient and Italian culinary tradition. Dish by dish, unique creations tell a story that can only be discovered at Monno.
Priced at AED 300 for five courses, the tasting menu experience allows diners to opt for a seafood-led menu or a journey that focuses on meaty finds from the farm.
From the sea, Chef’s Tasting Menu begins with locally sourced No 2 Dibba Bay Oysters with vanilla mignonette and almond foam, followed by ‘la tana del polpo’ – slow-cooked octopus served with potato cream and seaweed tapioca cracker. Spaghetti alla chitarra ensues, dressed in an aromatic beurre blanc sauce with lemongrass and shallots, and generously topped with Oscietra caviar. A beautiful Mediterranean seabass dish comes next, served with spinach sponge cake and a beurre blanc drizzle. The ocean-inspired tasting menu concludes with a dessert named ‘Sicily’, which presents diners with Sicilian pistachio mousse filled with pistachio cream, glazed with white chocolate, and topped with crunchy pistachios.
For those that enjoy flavours from the land, the menu begins with an indulgent truffle croquette, followed by melt-in-the-mouth, marinated and slow cooked Angus beef ribs served with Italian coleslaw. A firm fan favourite at Monno awaits guests for the next course – made in-house and shaped by hand, the ‘ravioli al tartufo’ presents homemade ravioli with buffalo ricotta filling, drizzled with Parmigiano Reggiano fondue and veal jus, and topped with fresh truffle. Next comes ‘kampot pepper veal’, a pan-fried fillet with Cambodian peppercorn sauce and potato terrine. For dessert, ‘black mirror’ brings the meal to a delicious close, serving guests with dark chocolate mousse with a heart of raspberry cream and glazed with dark chocolate.
Perfectly suited for a romantic dinner date with a loved one or a special dinner with family and friends, the new Chef’s Tasting Menu experience is now serving daily at Monno for dinner service.
