Spill the Bean, our favorite, home-grown, independent cafe in The Sustainable City, is back with its festive menu which is gloriously appetizing and remarkably scrumptious in equal measure. The cafe is renowned for the simple, delicious goodness of its home-style healthy dishes. This year, Spill the Bean is also marking the festive season with community activations that are sure to ring in the holiday cheer.
The shop transforms every December 1st into a sustainable winter wonderland with wooden ornaments and decorative garlands made of paper decking the industrial chic coffee house with nothing less than boughs of folly. Even the Christmas tree is made out of books donated by loyal customers as part of Spill the Beans’s book exchange library.
In its picture perfect setting, Spill the Bean is ready to transport its guests into a world of spectacularly healthy festive indulgence.
Imagine whole wheat gingerbread cookies, snowmen, and houses that are 100% whole wheat, refined sugar-free, and food coloring free. Then picture whole wheat, melt-in-the-mouth, low sugar and fat fudge snow cones that delight the senses and can be enjoyed guilt-free. More into cakes as part of your festive spreads? Spill the Bean’s scrumptious cakes for the season include its traditional whole wheat fruit cake that’s sweetened with nothing but fruit, and it’s beloved pumpkin carrot cake, which is wheat and refined sugar-free; so, it can be consumed to the heart’s content. Their whole wheat, low sugar and fat chocolate gingerbread cake brings the best of both worlds- chocolate and gingerbread- and is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before. Spill the Bean even has a healthier take on a baked cheesecake, a figure friendly version of a classic dessert topped with berry and cranberry jam that’s simply unforgettable.
Plant based dessert lovers are never forgotten at Spill the Bean, with an entire range of vegan desserts that even hard core carnivores will flock to. The chocolate orange cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, the gingerbread cake with chai buttercream frosting, and the cranberry orange cake topped with berries and cranberries are just a few of the plant forward options that will not only be head-turners at festive gatherings, but also deliver on taste, texture, and wholesomeness. For a grain and refined sugar free alternative, the pear and hazelnut tartlets are almost too pretty to eat- but resist digging in if you can!
To wash down these succulent creations are Spill the Bean’s exceptionally crafted signature seasonal drinks. Say bye bye to pumpkin spice lattes loaded with syrups and artificial flavors and try the ginger snap latte, sweetened with molasses, or the caramel latte sweetened with maple syrup and molasses. Both have the right amount of seasonal spices to hit that sweet spot minus the sugar rush. While non dairy alternatives are provided with these coffees, their almond rose latte, topped with rose petals for that extra oomph, is exclusively vegan., to celebrate the exquisite flavor of their home pressed almond milk.
The festive menu also offers a non-alcoholic mulled wine concoction served hot or iced, made from fresh juices and spices mulled overnight- with no added sugar. It wouldn’t be winter in Dubai without Spill the Bean’s super-duper hot chocolate, made from real dark chocolate and topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and syrup, mulled berries and marshmallows, to be enjoyed by small kids and grown-up kids (aka adults) alike. Most of these gorgeous, mouthwatering hot and cold beverages can be made with non-dairy milk for vegan customers.
The exclusive range of full cakes, gingerbread houses, and gingerbread snowmen is only available from 1st December to 10th January and requires pre-ordering.
Spill the Bean is a family-owned, managed, and run café that was recently recognized by the Financial Times as one of the best independent cafes in the world. Run by a husband and wife team, the venue crafts healthy, clean meals, offers a wide variety of specialty coffee for coffee aficionados, and tons of favorite reads thanks to their ever-growing book-exchange library.
