Dubai, UAE (XX September 2020): The first edition of Breakout DXB – a brand-new music, culture and arts event – is set to showcase a stacked line-up of homegrown creative talent at Rove Downtown, both indoors and out in the open air, all day and throughout the night, on Friday the 6th November 2020
Supporting Homegrown Creative Talent
The brainchild of Lobito Brigante and Dan Bolton, in partnership with Rove Hotels – Breakout DXB aims to support Dubai’s community of homegrown creative talent: musicians, artists and creatives who have faced unprecedented challenges as a result of the current pandemic.
Breakout DXB will bring together a diverse array of the UAE’s best talent, with headline music performances and appearances by Layla Kardan, Hamdan Al Abri, Lobito Brigante, Big Hass, and Charl Chaka, among many others to be announced soon. The ground-breaking new event will also focus on reinvigorating the live events and entertainment industry, while giving fans back the confidence to attend live events in safe and controlled environments.
A Creative Celebration
Breakout DXB gives people the opportunity to break out of the tired routines of 2020 and experience a unique live event that celebrates the very best of independent music, culture and arts. In addition to a jampacked live music line-up, Breakout DXB will feature visual art installations, exclusive film screenings, gaming competitions, and other immersive experiences, along with exclusive food pop-ups, market stalls and other exciting activations.
The event will also host panel discussions, workshops and talks in support of independent creative talent, with a focus on working together to restart the music and events industry in the UAE. All activations will be spread across multiple capacity-controlled hotel areas to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality’s guidelines.
Culture Must Continue to Grow and Thrive in the Covid Era
“Over the past decade, I’ve always contributed culturally to the UAE, and now more than ever the music and arts community needs support, so that the UAE can continue to nurture and attract the best music, art and cultural talent. Running this event and events like it is an important step in supporting our creative economy.
“Breakout DXB is about coming together safely in support of our home-grown arts and culture scene, and to show the world that Dubai is open and ready to run and support cultural events like ours, adhering to the highest safety standards. We hope this will encourage more organisers to create safe experiences that empower our creative community” said Lobito Brigante, co-organiser of Breakout DXB.
Creating an Unforgettable Event in a Safe Environment
“So many industries have faced unprecedented challenges as a result of this global pandemic, and the events and entertainment industry is no exception. Musicians, artists and creatives have found themselves out of work over the past seven months because of pandemic restrictions.
“Breakout DXB is all about supporting these independent talents and giving the industry the kickstart it needs to recover, while taking every step necessary to work closely with our international health and safety partner Gallowglass and event partner Rove Hotels, to create a safe, controlled and fun environment for fans to rediscover the magic of a live event,” said Dan Bolton, co-organiser of Breakout DXB.
Event organisers and partners intend to demonstrate that, now that live music and cultural events have returned, they can be organised in accordance with the highest safety standards, without negatively impacting on the fans’ collective enjoyment. To achieve this, they have partnered with Gallowglass – industry leaders in ensuring events across the world comply with health and safety regulations, including the recent UFC Fight Island events at Yas Island over the past few months.
Additionally, Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, has named Rove Hotels the first mid-scale brand in Dubai to receive its SAFEGUARD Label. This certification means that guests and fans alike can be reassured that Rove Hotels have full compliance under global safety, hygiene, and cleaning requirements.
