- New strategic hires to boost firm’s local expertise, capabilities and experiences
- Firm led by distinguished founder and Managing Director, Linus Benjamin Bauer, ‘highlycommended’ at Aviation Business Awards 2020
Dubai, United Arab Emirates –: Bauer Aviation Advisory (BAA), the award-winning aviation consulting firm has opened an office in Dubai to help the Middle East’s aviation sector navigate the impact of the pandemic and overcome its associated challenges in the Gulf region and globally.
Airlines, airports and aviation service providers in the Gulf region will benefit from BAA’s deep consulting experience and expertise through its in-house consultants, analysts and extensive pool of external consultants and subject matter experts.
According to IATA, the impact of COVID-19 on the MENA region’s aviation sector has placed almost 2 million jobs and $115 billion in GDP at risk, as airlines in the Middle East lost at least $7.1 billion in profits in 2020, representing an average loss of $68.5 per passenger.
Following the circulation of vaccines, borders reopening and airlines’ ability to grow their cargo businesses, BAA anticipates the commercial aviation industry will rebuild in 2021 ahead of an industry recovery in 2022-2023 before emerging stronger than pre-crisis levels from 2024.
Linus Benjamin Bauer, Managing Director at Bauer Aviation Advisory, said: “At BAA, our priority is to deliver long-term sustainable value for the aviation industry. After what has been a turbulent year for the Middle East’s aviation sector, our entry to the market is at the right place and at the right time. The industry needs a trusted partner now more than ever to help it confront its challenges and our committed team of local experts will help our clients soar to recovery.”
Founded during the pandemic, BAA gained recognition for its services to the region’s aviation sector at the Aviation Business Awards 2020 held in December. The firm received the ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Pride of Aviation category, alongside Etihad Airways, at the ceremony in Dubai.
With offices in Germany and Switzerland, BAA has chosen Dubai as the firm’s new global headquarters in the Middle East, for its strategic location, access to a vibrant aviation market and primary focus on opportunities for further growth in the MENA region and beyond.
Originally from Bonn, Germany, the firm’s founder and managing director Linus Benjamin Bauer, has relocated to Dubai to be closer to clients and drive BAA’s expansion in the Middle East market. “
The Middle East has an incredibly vibrant aviation market and Dubai offers us an ideal business environment to expand our services across the Gulf region. Our 25 expert consultants are already providing strategic, trusted and reliable advice to our clients, which reflects our commitment to supporting the growth of the aviation industry with excellence,” added Bauer.
