Accor inks landmark deal to manage first Swissôtel-branded hotel and residential project in Qatar

SWISSôTEL DOHA CORNICHE PARK TOWERS HOTEL & RESIDENCES, billed as the brand’s middle East flagship, will occupy an iconic mixed-use tower

Accor, a world-leading augmented hospitality group, is to debut the Middle East’s first Swissôtel combined hotel and residential project – a property occupying two iconic mixed-use towers in the heart of Qatar and billed as the brand’s regional flagship.

The Group has signed an agreement with the leading conglomerate Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) to manage the Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel and Residences, a landmark development comprising a 350 room 5 star luxury hotel and 121 luxury branded residences, all offering unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf and city old town.

Set to open in 2022, the high-profile project will be strategically located in the capital’s prestigious West Bay, close to major commercial, government, corporate and leisure districts and within walking distance of West Bay QIC Metro Station.

With the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre, World Trade Centre and leading cultural, historical and retail attractions in proximity and the Lusail City mega-development that will host the FIFA World Cup 2022 also nearby, the property will appeal to a wide range of corporate, leisure and long-stay guests, as well as residents seeking premium business, leisure and dining facilities.

Housed in an architecturally striking tower of 44 floors including 4 podium and Mezzanine levels of luxury retail space and restaurants, interconnected with the 29 floors luxury branded Swissotel Residences Tower and a 23 floor Commercial Tower hosting QIMC’s headquarters on the 23rd floor, Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel & Residences will be an eye-catching addition to the city skyline.

“Our collaboration with Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) provides us with a remarkable opportunity to showcase Swissôtel’s true potential in the Middle East, delivering a one-of-a-kind project that will become the brand’s regional flagship,” said Mark Willis, CEO, Accor Middle East and Africa.

“By combining hotel, serviced apartment and residential accommodation under this premium brand for the first time, we are meeting fast-growing demand for exceptional long- and short-stay accommodation, complemented by five-star facilities and services, while bolstering Accor’s presence in Qatar.”

Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Ansari, CEO – QIMC, said: “With its iconic architecture, sought-after location and unique concept, Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel & Residences bears all the fundamentals of a pioneering development. Introducing a new dimension to Qatar’s hotel and residential markets, it will set the benchmark for mixed-use projects combining hospitality, residential and commercial components in one dramatic vertical space.”

Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel & Residences will feature 200 guest rooms, including more than 60 suites, as well as 150 serviced apartments comprising studios and one- and two-bedroom units ranging in size from 38 sqm to 143 sqm.

In a move that taps into the underserved premium branded residential market, the project will introduce the first Swissôtel branded residences to the region with 121 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to be sold to individual purchasers.

Stand-out facilities available to all guests and residents will include four dining venues, 750 sqm of meeting space, a large spa, health and fitness centre, swimming pool and a kids’ club, while the branded residences will feature its own luxurious Residential Lounge, located on the top floor commanding breath-taking views, complimented by a private swimming pool and gym.

For added guest convenience, City Centre Mall, Qatar Sport’s Club, Katara Beach, the Pearl and the multi-billion-dollar Msheireb project featuring retail, commercial and residential districts and landmark cultural attractions, will be close by.

Accor currently operates six properties (1,378 keys) in Qatar across five brands including Movenpick, Mondrian and MGallery, with nine additional hotels (2,920 keys) in the pipeline. Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel & Residences will grow the Swissôtel portfolio to seven properties in the Middle East and Africa.
