Jeddah, KSA -: Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC), won a top global honour with Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, receiving the 2020 Laureate Award from Aviation Week Network for Air Arabia’s ‘Airline Strategy.’
The honour from the largest multimedia information and services provider for the global aviation, aerospace, and defense industries, serving 1.7 million professionals around the world, is for Adel Al Ali’s and his team extraordinary achievement in building a sustainably profitable low-cost carrier and pioneering the business model in the Middle East. He will receive the honour at the 63rd Annual Laureate Awards to be held on March 12, 2020, at the National Building Museum in Washington DC.
On Adel Al Ali’s recognition, Aviation Week Network noted that “under his leadership, Air Arabia has grown sustainably and profitably for many years and is now looking at adding new longer-haul markets and placing a large aircraft order to enlarge its footprint.”

Currently, Air Arabia operates flights to over 170 global destinations in 50 countries from four hubs in the UAE, Morocco, and Egypt. The airline recently placed one of the region’s largest single-aisle aircraft orders of 120 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. With a total book value of over US$14 billion (list price), the order will more than triple Air Arabia’s current fleet strength as well as support the carrier’s global network expansion strategy.
