Book and fly with confidence with Air France KLM this summer

Air France KLM supports travellers with a bundle of services as seasonal destinations reopen

Air France KLM has introduced a bundle of new passenger services as seasonal leisure destinations reopen, help trip planning and providing additional flexibility and reassurance on health and safety. The new services include an online tool to identify all the required travel documents for the specific flight and destination, as well as passenger eligibility to travel based on the latest available information. The tools complement all the addition measures taken by Air France KLM to support passengers, from flexible ticketing to onboard and on the ground safety and hygiene, and guidance on Covid-19 test centres. Air France and KLM have recently been awarded the APEX Health and Safety Diamond Award – the highest possible level of certification for airlines in the area of health and safety.

Air France KLM is supporting the gradual recovery in travel and increasing services to leisure destinations. During the summer season, Air France will operate 80 seasonal routes including 22 new routes – to France, Europe and North Africa from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly and the French regions. These seasonal routes will be added to Air France’s existing flight schedule.

The traveldoc application brings together all the information covering any restrictions and all the documentation required for the trip prior to travelling, Air France KLM encourages customers to ensure they meet all the requirements to enter the destination country including the requirements for any transit point, which are subject to change as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic. Passengers can just input the trip details into the new traveldoc online application to see a list of travel documents required for the trip, plus details specifically for children travelling, and Covid-19 alerts.

These new services complement the existing book with confidence measures taken by Air France KLM including 100% changeable or refundable tickets, plus the safety measures introduced on all Air France KLM flights.

Air France KLM is providing increased flexibility and peace of mind, so travellers can postpone their trip for any reason, receive a refundable voucher if they no longer wish to travel, or get a refund if the flight has been cancelled.

Health and safety remain the top priorities and Air France KLM has put in place strict health measures both on the ground and in flight to keep passengers protected at every step of the journey.  ‘Air France Protect’ comprises a series of measures that are regularly adapted to changes in the health situation.

·      All Air France KLM teams on the ground and on board wear surgical masks and respect strict protective measures.

·      All aircraft are equipped with an air recycling system that traps 99.9% of particles. The air in the cabin is renewed every 3 minutes.

·      Vacuuming of carpets and all seats, as well as head covers

·      Cleaning and disinfection of all contact surfaces: trays, armrests, seat belts, screens, remote controls, overhead baggage racks, windows, door handles

·      On long-haul flights, passengers receive a personal sanitary kit including a disinfectant wipe, a surgical mask and hand sanitizer.

·      On all other flights, a disinfectant wipe is provided as soon as passengers board the aircraft.

Many countries now require passengers to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to departure. To assist customers, the SkyTeam alliance, of which Air France is a founding member, has developed an interactive map of approved screening centres, accessible on airfrance.com. This list is regularly updated. Passengers are strongly advised to check on the latest travel restrictions put in place by the country of destination, to ensure  a smooth journey.

Skytrax’s Covid-19 Airline Safety Rating evaluates the hygiene and safety measures implemented by airlines, both on board and at the airport. Air France received 4 stars in the audit carried out in December 2020 by Skytrax, an international air transport rating organization.
