He then went on to discuss the process of heating water through the use of refrigerant cycle machines while demonstrating the benefits of heat pumps over conventional electric water heaters and boilers.
Commending Dubai’s Carbon Abatement Strategy 2030, Lorenzo further explained that systems such as heat pumps and chillers efficiently use electricity as a low carbon solution to reduce carbon emissions. Commenting on the keynote session, Lorenzo said, “The hospitality industry has a high demand for hot water. Depending on capacity, guest rooms, swimming pools, and restaurants require considerable amounts of water, thus finding innovative methods of heating water is vital for the industry as it transitions towards a more sustainable future. Designed to ensure efficiency and optimise energy consumption, heat pumps provide more sustainable ways to produce hot water and can further support hotels in taking one step closer to their sustainability agendas.” The session was concluded by providing a summary of Daikin’s innovative water heating solutions for various applications and a case study of a 5-star hotel luxury hotel in Dubai was presented to showcase the results of Daikin’s solutions. The well-known hotel in Dubai is saving 30% of energy by the installations of Daikin’s retrofitted conventional systems with water heat pumps.
