Jeddah- The Egyptian state-owned company “EgyptAir” celebrated on Saturday its 90th anniversary in the presence of a large gathering of guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, a group of Saudi leaders and officials in the aviation sector, customers, travel-trade partners and staff in the region at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Corniche of the Red Sea Bride in Jeddah.
Guests and attendees were received by Mohamed Abd El Nabi, General Manager of EgyptAir in Saudi, Saeed Abu Bakr, Director General of Finance EgyptAir Jeddah and Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Director of EgyptAir Station in Jeddah.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of his Excellency the Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Jeddah and also was attended by officials of various Saudi government agencies in the Kingdom, including the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, Jeddah Airports Company and the Saudi Ground Services Company, the Ports Projects Management and Development Company Lt., Public Security, and the Passports and Customs Department at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The 90th-anniversary celebration of Egypt Air was an occasion to reaffirm the company’s commitment to achieving its mission and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of its partners and employees to EgyptAir’s success and thank them for their outstanding efforts during the COVED-19 to ensure the company’s sustainability and resilience amid the unprecedented challenges faced by the sector.
EgyptAir also presented the shield of 90 years to the most prominent travel and tourism companies from across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in appreciation of their contribution and vital role to the company’s success during the past period, which was difficult for all sectors of tourism and aviation in general.
In this context, Tarek Hegazy, Regional Director of EgyptAir Riyadh, Ahmed Khalaf, Regional Director of EgyptAir Dammam, and Hani Othman, Regional Director of EgyptAir Madinah, attended the celebration and represented EgyptAir’s offices in the Kingdom.
As part of the celebration, a documentary film was shown about EgyptAir, which reviewed the stages of development witnessed by EgyptAir since its inception.
The national company was established on May 7, 1932, to be the first operating airline in the Middle East and Africa and the seventh airline in the world.
