With CSR activities planned across three pillars of children, health and food, Festival Plaza seeks to support the community and promote real change
Initiatives will fall under Al-Futtaim Malls’ CSR umbrella, #FestivalCares
Dubai-: Festival Plaza, part of Al-Futtaim Malls, has announced its commitment to making a positive impact within the community and weaving community wellbeing into the fibres of its operations through a series of year-round CSR activations for 2022. Under the #FestivalCares initiative, which encourages visitors to come together and do good for those in need, the neighbourhood mall is set to partner with key local and global organisations to have a positive impact across the community.
Following the success of its 2021 initiatives, Festival Plaza has CSR activities planned across three pillars for 2022 – children, health, and food that embodies community, which is the heart of all things at Festival Plaza–to promote real change within the community. In line with #FestivalCares, activities planned include toy, book and clothes collections, community activations and charity partnerships.
Festival Plaza will be kicking off in February with its Share the Love campaign, encouraging the UAE’s bookworms to reach for the shelves and donate some of their reads so that everybody can experience the joy of reading. Following on from the success of its toy drive in December, February will also see Festival Plaza ask its community to share unwanted toys and clothes to bring smiles to children’s faces once again by dropping off their pre-loved toys and clothes to donate to Emirates Red Crescent.
Partnering with local institutions across the UAE who help facilitate donations, Festival Plaza will aim to beat last year’s records and donate more than 12,000 books, 10,000 toys and 500 meals this year. Taking things further for 2022, it will also be partnering with global organisations across the year including UNICEF, the World Food Programme, and others within the country.
Commenting on the mall’s CSR initiatives, Genevieve Colaco, Regional General Manager, Marketing & Customer Experience at Al-Futtaim Malls said: “Throughout 2021, we took great pride in involving the community in all that we do, particularly when it came to our charitable activities and donations. We have seen time and time again that people want to give back, therefore we are committed to finding ways across the year for us to make a change and help those less fortunate. Our goal is to highlight the importance of CSR and encourage communities to become a part of our initiatives.”
As part of #FestivalCares, Festival Plaza Mall held numerous activations throughout 2021 for a good cause. From collecting and donating over 6100 pre-loved books and 5,010 toys in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent, to echoing the spirit of Ramadan with a meal-donation campaign last year, Festival Plaza Mall aims to effect social change in 2022 and give back to the community all year long.
Located at Jebel Ali and in close proximity to Al Furjan and Jebel Ali Village, Festival Plaza is also minutes away from Marina, The Palm, JLT, Jumeirah Park and Islands, Tecom and Discovery Gardens. The mall offers great discounts across its retail stores and a complimentary shuttle bus service every 20 minutes from the mall to the EXPO and back, as well as a dedicated hala pick up point is located outside the community mall entrance for taxi users.
