Dubai, UAE – American singer, actress and TV personality Nicole Scherzinger stuns at the Global Citizen Forum held in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday.
Part of her glam team, international celebrity hair artist Maggie Semaan, shares her experience working and glamming Nicole for the event. “It was a dream to glam up an iconic woman for this purposeful event.” she said.
The Pussycat Dolls lead star performed one of her hit singles “Don’t Cha” in front of the crowd including A-list celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Halima Aden, Afrojack, Sacha Jafri and Wyclef Jean to name a few.
Here, Maggie shares a diary of what a day with a Hollywood celebrity is like:
Look 1
It’s funny how I started my day thinking about how my day will turn out. I am a long-time fan of Nicole and it makes me proud thinking how far I’ve come – from a little girl dreaming to work with her “role model” to actually working with her today, 20 years later.
I am doing 2 looks for Nicole today – day and night. I saw her day suit and gala dress and I was just stunned. Just as I was envisioning what I actually wanted to do with her hair, she walked in, smiled and greeted everyone in the room. She was the sweetest.
Now it’s time to work my magic – for her first look, she’s wearing a white satin wrap around suit and I wanted to give her natural, soft waves that look very effortless flowing over one of her shoulders. She loved it and can I just say – she looked so classy in that look while she gave her talk on “The Revolution is Inclusion” at the Global Citizen Forum.
Look 2
I felt so relieved that Nicole loved her first look, I felt more confident and so inspired to do her gala look. People think that working around a celebrity is nerve-wracking, it is for some but it’s very different with Nicole – she has an aura that just makes everyone feel at ease and inspired.
Now onto the second look – she’s wearing a gold jewelled Michael Cinco gown for both the gala dinner and her performance and with all the movements – I thought a sleek back ponytail with a side strand would perfectly frame her face and give justice to her gown.
It did work. She rocked that stage with her look, her charisma and of course, her talent.
