The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) welcomes the Government’s relaxation of restrictions on the number of participants in local tours and will soon launch the second round of the “Spend-to-Redeem Free Tour” programme, details of which will be announced shortly. About 100 remaining tours in the first round of the “Spend-to-Redeem Free Tour” programme, suspended last December because of the pandemic, are expected to resume in May at the earliest.
Since all participating tour operators in the “Free Tour” programme must register their itineraries with the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TICHK) and sign the “Anti-epidemic Undertakings for Local Tours” to ensure the tours in the programme adopt the newest anti-epidemic measures, the HKTB will announce the spend-to-redeem details of the second round of the “Spend-to-Redeem Free Tour” programme later on.
Regarding the first round of the “Spend-to-Redeem Free Tour” programme, which was suspended last December because of the pandemic, the remaining roughly 100 tours, with about 2,500 participants, are expected to resume in May at the earliest. The tour operators will successively contact the respective participants to inform them of the latest arrangements. All participants in the programme must follow the latest anti-epidemic measures, as required by the Government.
