MyGovinda’s is the answer to those sweet cravings, at their newly launched 2nd branch in Dubai Silicon Oasis that offers zero sugar and pure jaggery based wholesome sweets as a commitment to their mission of bringing healthy and holistic food closer and accessible to all.
Not many are aware that jaggery, more popularly known as gur in Hindi, has immense health benefits as well. It is mostly made with sugarcane in North India; however also made of date, coconut and other palm trees in other parts of India.
Indian holistic medical science known as Ayurveda officially recommends the usage of jaggery for medicinal and therapeutic purposes since prehistoric times. Not only because jaggery is a natural and healthy sugar alternative to refined sugar but also because it’s mineral content is considerably higher.
Jaggery can easily be termed as a superfood due to its rich mineral content such as calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and phosphorus and even has trace amounts of zinc, copper, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin. Research shows that jaggery has vitamin B, some amounts of plant proteins and loads of phytochemicals and antioxidants.
To elaborate the selection; MyGovinda’s no sugar sweets include Chikkis and Laddoos, while jaggery based sweets include kaju katli, rasmali and Sandesh all very popular Indian sweets loved by all members of the family. In addition, their winter specials include jaggery and sesame based sweets.
