Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Has Achieved GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation November 2020

Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Makkah proudly announces that is has been certified among the first few hotels in Saudi Arabia and Middle East, who have been accredited by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council.

Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation introduced its own set of hygiene protocols at the advent of the coronavirus crisis, quickly standardized measures across its extensive portfolio. Accreditation from Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) is a crucial step in Hyatt’s health and safety mission for the well-being of all stakeholders.

The Hyatt brands hold very strict standards and protocols when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness. The GBAC accreditation is an add on to its ranks which will ensure comfort, safety, security and personal hygiene as a number one priority for its guests and colleagues. The goal of Hyatt is to become the most preferred hospitality brand loved and respected by colleagues, guests, owners, operators, community members and stakeholders.

Under the supervision and review of GBAC, one of the departments of the (ISSA), the Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Makkah Hotel has succeeded in implementing and applying the strictest cleaning, sterilization and infection prevention protocols. Composed of international leaders in the field of microbial-pathogenic threat analysis, mitigation, response, and recovery, the GBAC provides training, guidance, accreditation, certification, crisis management assistance, and leadership to government, commercial and private entities looking to mitigate, quickly address, and/or recover from biological threats and real-time crises.

Guided by Hyatt’s purpose of care, we are committed to focus on the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and guests during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. The GBAC STAR accreditation implementation will ensure a performance-based cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program that will address the 20 GBAC STAR Program elements and focus on establishing an environment for our location that is safe, and healthy.
