Japan Educational Institutions to Connect Online with UAE Students

-Middle East students currently studying in Japan to also join live online event-

Abu Dhabi – : Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), a Japanese government affiliated organisation specialized in education and human resource development, will hold a Japan Focus Day online event for students from the UAE and its neighbouring countries looking to further their tertiary and academic studies in Japan. The event, which will be held on the 25th January 2021, from 4-6 pm, will see five Japanese educational institutions present their programs and areas of expertise and strengths to interested students, parents and teachers alike.

The Japan Focus Day is the second such event to showcase Japan, amongst a series of programs being held on the NAJAH Connect platform, which is the online platform for the annual NAJAH students’ recruitment fair, the region’s largest exhibition for local and international universities.

The Japan Focus Day will provide opportunities for prospective students, their parents and teachers, to connect directly with representatives from some of Japan’s leading educational institutions, including: Joshibi University of Art and Design, Tokai University, Nagoya University, Tohoku University and the Japanese Language Education Centers of Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in Tokyo and Osaka.

Each of the Japanese institutions to present at the event bring their own expertise. Joshibi University of Art and Design has produced numerous female creators since 1900, while Tokai University was the first university in Japan to launch professional aircraft pilot training courses. Nagoya University is ranked among the top 150 in the QS World University Rankings 2021 and has produced 6 Nobel laureates, while Tohoku University prides itself with its own space program. All of the institutions welcome students from the Middle East as part of their diverse international student bodies. In addition to the opportunities to chat directly with the representatives that will be presenting live, students from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region currently studying in Japan, will also join the event to talk about their experiences.

The NAJAH Connect virtual platform has already proved its effectiveness at the first Japan Focus Day held in November 2020.

Mr. Amran Naser Ali Salem Al Zaidi of the UAE quotes; “I was extremely surprised when I knew that some participating universities offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs fully in English for international students, while giving them the opportunity to attend Japanese language classes. I think this aspect really did boost my motivation to study in Japan. Moreover, the event was loaded with valuable information for the students who are considering to study in Japan, including such information as university accommodations, cost of living, visas and much more.”

Ms. Muhra AlMulla also commented; “It was useful to know more about the universities available in Japan and the majors that we can enrol in.”
