Riyadh, Saudi Arabia : KAFD and L’Art Pur today announced the launch of ṣiyāgah, a curated art exhibition showcasing various manifestations of a single idea. Presented for the first-time in Riyadh, ṣiyāgah will bring together typography, calligraphy, illustration, and narratives crafted by upcoming and well-established artists.
Complimenting the booming art scene in the capital, the exhibition bridges together contemporary works with prominent traditional pieces. Roughly translating to methods of composition or formulation, ṣiyāgah will provide a thought-provoking experience for visitors and art-enthusiasts. The exhibition celebrates a wide range of regional artists who take inspiration from their own individual experiences, techniques, and practices.
The carefully selected pieces include unique styles of asemic writing that will highlight the creativity of typography and calligraphy. Gallery visitors will also witness an array of illustrations and graphic designs, from elegant hand-drawn sketches to computer-generated 3D modeling. The exhibition will feature a comprehensive program including talks, discussions, and short film screenings.
Curated by Meshal Al-Obaidallah, the ṣiyāgah exhibition is the third installment of an ongoing partnership between the L’Art Pur Foundation and the KAFD Art Gallery. The collaboration aims to promote art and culture within the community by developing new platforms and initiatives for fostering creativity.
The main exhibition, located at the KAFD Art Gallery, will remain open from January 9th until March 9th, 2020. For a limited time, visitors can experience an extension of ṣiyāgah at its satellite location, just a two-minute walk through the destination’s stunning architectural scenery.
Entry to the art exhibition is free of charge and all ages are welcome. The KAFD Art Gallery is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
