Workshops, online roadshows, and webinars will be conducted with UAE and GCC travel agents in order to create exciting promotional travel packages to Malta – just in time for the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) and partners are planning various travel trade activities through the months leading to the launch of flights with flydubai in May. While flydubai is preparing to launch flights to Malta, MTA and partners will be in the midst of promoting the destination to travel professionals in the region via workshops, online roadshows and webinars.
MTA will be coordinating an online roadshow with flydubai targeting potentially 80 leisure/MICE specialized agents from the UAE market in efforts to promote the destination. The aim of this webinar is to create awareness about the destination, ensure all the agents are aware that there will be flights to Malta starting from May 12th, 2021, and also to extend the invite for another meeting that will take place a week later on the 7th and 8th of April. The second meeting will be organized by AVIAREPS, and it will allow MTA and co-participants to have a one-on-one 15-20-minute meeting with each agent.
The purpose of the webinars and meetings is to have UAE and GCC travel agents, to create exciting, safe and fun holiday packages to Malta, for families, couples and friends, just in time for the Eid al-Fitr, and following summer holidays.
With travel restrictions gradually loosening and global borders slowly reopening, flydubai announced on the 25th of January that it will launch flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Malta International Airport (MLA), with 4 flights a week starting from the 12th of May 2021.
The decision came as no surprise, as Malta has established itself as a safe destination for travelers from around the world, and it has proved without avail its capabilities in ensuring the wellbeing of its residents during the unprecedented circumstances during the Covid pandemic.
flydubai, the UAE based airline, will be the first carrier to offer direct flights on this route from the United Arab Emirates post Covid-19, with two flights operating directly and two via a stop in Catania International Airport (CTA), Italy.
Residents of the UAE will then have the option to spend their long-awaited holiday in the beautiful Maltese islands in the heart of the Mediterranean. The islands, which have hosted a sparse number of tourists in the previous months, is excited to again welcome its visitors from the UAE.
Malta Tourism Authority is indeed grateful for the support of flydubai, UAE authorities, travel agents, and all partners for their continuous support during these challenging times. Undoubtedly, MTA will extend efforts to enhance the image of Malta and its reputation of being a safe and attractive destination for UAE visitors and travelers from around the world.
Malta, the gem of the Mediterranean and the crossroads of the cultures and people is a destination like no other.
