Taking place on July 19 and August 2, the workshops will be led by Teible’s Executive Chef Carlos Frunze and Executive Pastry Chef Sheerin Ghaffar.
Farm-to-table restaurant, Teible, located at Jameel Arts Centre has revealed that it will host a series of culinary workshops during summer for budding chefs and eager home cooks looking to learn new skills in the kitchen.
On July 19 from 12pm to 4pm, Executive Pastry Chef Sheerin Ghaffar invites guests to enjoy a ‘gelato and sorbet class’, which will guide participants on how to create refreshing iced treats using local and regional ingredients to see them through the summer months. The fun and interactive class is priced at AED 550 per person and will showcase the beauty of ingredients through making of gelato and sorbet. Chef Sheerin will use fresh dairy sourced from local farms as well as regionally sourced fruits, to show participants how to create these cooling sweet treats at home.
Executive Chef Carlos Frunze presents a ‘shio koji class’ on August 2 from 12pm – 3pm. Priced at AED 650 per participant, this hands-on workshop will allow guests to learn how to create their own shio koji and explore uses of the ingredient, including how to ferment koji bacteria and create umami amino sauce, as well as how to create dishes, sauces and marinades with the ingredient, and lastly a look at the aging of the proteins.
