Following the recent birth of the region’s first baby sloth on 16th October at Dubai’s only in-door rainforest, The Green Planet has announced that the gender reveal of the newest member of the family will take place on Saturday 29th January at The Green Planet Café, which is FREE to enter
United Arab Emirates-: A monumental date in The Green Planet’s history is 16th October 2021, as this marks the day the region’s first baby sloth was born. This super cute, slow-moving baby has clung tightly to its mother for the first for months of its life, so identifying the gender has been difficult.
An incredibly exciting milestone is just around the corner, as the baby’s gender is set to be revealed at The Green Planet on Saturday 29th at 10am.
This special celebration will take place at The Green Planet Café, where everyone will be invited to take part in getting an exclusive view of the gender reveal. The café (which is situated just outside The Green Planet’s main facility) is free-to-enter and will be embellished with plenty of pink and blue decorations, getting everyone in the mood to get involved and guess the gender, those guessing correctly will get a memorable souvenir. Guests who wish to enjoy Dubai’s famed indoor tropical bio-dome can purchase their tickets online or at the door.
Additionally, anyone can tune in for the live feed of the gender reveal on The Green Planet Dubai , with everyone encouraged to vote for the gender of on the polls that will appear on The Green Planet’s Instagram page.

It has been a pleasure to watch the baby thrive and adapt in its new environment, under the watchful eye of parents Liam and Lemon, and of course our team of trained biologists who continue to monitor the baby closely.”
The new baby was born weighing approximately 350 grams, joining parents, sloth residents Liam and Lemon in calling The Green Planet home. This is the first baby sloth born in the region and is a reason for celebration as over the last 20 years, sloths in the wild have suffered from the effects of deforestation, habitat loss and the illegal animal trade. In a bid to raise awareness about the animals, their well-being, and conservation, The Green Planet encourages its visitors to learn more about the exotic creatures.
