Aspiring chefs have a few days left until September 4 to submit entries
Warner Bros. Discovery’s largest Arabic food network, Fatafeat, has recently announced its
region-wide talent search, ‘Star Chef’. The competition offers culinary enthusiasts a once-in-a-
lifetime opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for a cooking series of their own.
The audition to partake opened on August 2 through a self-nomination format and will close on
September 4. Those who wish to participate in the Star Chef competition have to upload a
video entry of themselves preparing a Fatafeat-inspired recipe or their unique specialty to their
preferred social media channel (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok) and
use #FatafeatStarChef. Participants must upload their videos in Arabic and ensure their profiles
are public. The top eight contestants will be announced on September 8.
The competition will have several phases, each judged by celebrity chefs Mohammad Orfali and
Tarek Ibrahim. Contenders will undergo various challenges to showcase their culinary skills,
from cooking specific recipes to competing head-to-head with other participants. Semi-finalists
will be invited to the Fatafeat studio in Dubai to compete for the next round. Fatafeat’s viewers
will be able to watch every phase of the competition on the food network’s social media pages
and later on its TV channel.
