During her participation in the Fourth Arab Women’s Day Forum
Cairo: – The ACSR of the League of Arab States awarded the international artist Shalimar Sharbatly the Arab Woman Award for Social Responsibility: “the most creative and humane person” award during her participation in the fourth edition of the Arab Women’s Day Forum, which was held on Sunday, March 20th 2022 at the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo titled: “Creativity, innovation and development between leadership and digitization”.
This honor came as a result of the tireless and continuous efforts presented by the international artist Shalimar Sharbatly to support Arab women’s issues, and her contribution to enriching the Gulf and Arab fine arts movement and her permanent participation in prestigious international forums, and an affirmation of Arab women’s ability to innovate, create and lead.
In a statement on this occasion, international artist Shalimar Sharbatly expressed her happiness with this honor from the League of Arab States, adding that honoring her with this award is a source of pride, and it is a medal for every Saudi and Arab woman, and an affirmation of the successes achieved by Saudi women in light of the comprehensive renaissance that Saudi Arabia is witnessing in line with the goals of Vision 2030. Emphasizing: “The success of Saudi women is the success of the entire Arab community”. She added that er happiness with this honor far exceeds what she used to feel abroad, because this honor comes from the most important Arab diplomatic institution after a great artistic journey in the West. She praised the great role played by the Arab Council for Community Development in supporting civil society institutions, highlighting successful Arab models in society, empowering Arab women and raising awareness of the importance of their role in various fields to contribute to building a better future for the upcoming generations.
From her end, Dr. Randa Rizk, Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, praised the tireless efforts of the artist Shalimar Sharbatly and her success in presenting an honorable image of Saudi and Arab women in the field of fine arts on the Arab and international levels, and her unlimited support for women’s issues and the fine arts movement in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, which is why she deserves To win the “creative and most humane Arab personality” award. Stating that the award is given according to accurate objective criteria for pioneering and distinguished Arab women in community participation within the framework of supporting and encouraging the Arab League represented by the Arab Council for Social Responsibility for these pioneering and honorable women models, in appreciation of their role in supporting Arab women in various fields.
Shalimar Sharbatly, who is ranked among the 100 most influential women in arts and culture, has a wide-spread reputation in the world of modern art, and is always proud of her international achievements for the Saudi modern movement. She won the first honorary award (the Grandson of Retoire Award) at the Autumn Salon in its 106th session in the presence of a group of international artists and critics, led by the French Minister of Culture and the Ambassador of Spain in France, and 500 of the most famous artists in the world from 35 countries.
