The Pet Shop provided a Lily’s Kitchen festive meal to its partner UAE animal rescue centers for every Lily’s Kitchen product purchased online and across its six stores in December
Dubai, UAE – The Pet Shop (Dubai Pet Food) in partnership with Lily’s Kitchen pet food, launched its 12 days of festive campaign this December, with the goal of providing every shelter animal at their partner UAE animal rescue centers with a holiday meal. Shoppers that bought Lily’s Kitchen products across its online and six physical stores across the UAE took part in this initiative and helped to spread some festive joy to the country’s furry friends.
The campaign was initially set to end on 12 December, but due to the overwhelming response from the local community, was extended to 18 December. With the help of Lily’s Kitchen, The Pet Shop was able to donate 1,000 meals to the shelter animals at its two partner animal welfare centers, Stray Dogs Center UAE and Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Center. Faris Al-Raqqad, Breakfast Show host at Luv FM, showed his support for the cause by visiting the Lily’s Kitchen van dressed as Santa and distributing the festive meals to all the furry friends.
Andy Gould, Head of Brand at The Pet Shop commented: “One of our core values at The Pet Shop is to support and look after the wellbeing of all animals, especially the ones that end up in a shelter. Our motto has always been: adopt, don’t shop. As a team we wanted to share some festive joy with our animal shelter friends and Lily’s Kitchen jumped onboard as they too are very passionate about the wellbeing of all animals. We also took this opportunity to shine some light on the tireless work that the shelters and their volunteer staff do 365 days of the year. We look forward to continuing our work with them to help find homes through our weekly adoption days at The Pet Shop.”
The Pet Shop hosts weekly adoption days to support the local animal welfare centers with re-homing of abandoned pets and to educate the community about adopting animals instead of shopping. In 2021, The Pet Shop and its partner animal welfare centers managed to rehome 600+ animals in the UAE.
