Statement by Kevin Luo, Senior Air Filtration Officer, Blueair
“On the occasion of World Health Day, now is the ideal time to reflect on the importance of health and wellbeing, specifically on the value of quality indoor air. This is an area which doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, but one which warrants exactly this. It is no surprise that since the pandemic outbreak, our priorities have shifted, and safeguarding our health has become a key focus in our everyday lives. As we spend more time at home, indoor environments have become the space we spend the majority of our time in, and potentially, a breeding ground for disease transmission.”
He continued: “In the GCC region, the average person spends a large portion of their time in air-conditioned spaces due to the nature of the hot and sandy climate, especially during the hotter summer months. As a result, levels of dust can be high, and the threat of unfiltered air lingers. According to reports, the levels of indoor air pollutants can be up to 5 times higher than outdoor levels – a statistic that many will find worrying. As the age-old adage goes, ‘your health is your wealth’ and this is exactly why we want to raise awareness about this important topic and make people aware of the implications and threat of unclean air.
“The good news is that there are solutions to combat this, one of which is installing an air purifier, which can make a radical difference to the air we breathe, and therefore our overall health. At Blueair, we are committed to creating environments that contribute towards improved wellbeing and our products are designed with exactly this in mind. This World Health Day will actually see the launch of one of our newest products, called HealthProtect™, into the region.
“In terms of an energy-efficient solution that brings clean, fresh air into the indoors, HealthProtect™ is a game-changer – featuring our most advanced filtration technology to date to remove up to 99.97% of airborne pollutants such as dust, pollen, dander and mould.
“It also removes toxic volatile compound chemicals (VOCs) from the air, including formaldehyde, as well as odours and nanoparticles down to 0.03 micron, and removes up to 99.99% of viruses and bacteria, helping to improve not just air quality, but also peace of mind.”
