Award-winning Zafran Indian Bistro honors its roots once again with a new menu bursting with innovative flavors, classic Indian comfort food and visual flair.
The new offering at the homegrown Indian restaurant chain, hugely popular with Emiratis and expats alike, combines regional flavors, spices, and textures with heirloom recipes to offer an inventive take on classic Indian dishes. Along with heritage, the focus has been on using sustainably sourced local ingredients wherever possible to ensure authenticity and freshness.
The Mahi Samarkand, a whole seabream marinated with zaatar, sumac and other spices, then roasted in an oven, is a seafood lover’s dream and a testament to the blend of Indian and Middle Eastern flavor profiles. Kebabs get reinvented at Zafran with the new Chicken Peeli Mirch Tikka, Patiala Tawa Mutton, Bhuni Tangdi and Raan Zafran all standouts on the new menu. Vegetarians can also look forward to relishing the distinct flavors of the Lucknowi Beetroot Tikki and Achari Paneer Tikka.
Zafran’s main course section has always been something to look forward to and this new menu features some exciting, imaginative dishes that are guaranteed to tantalize the tastebuds of the region’s discerning diners.
From the Green Chicken Curry to the Keema Boti, Murgh Dhaniya Korma and Awadhi Gosht, traditional Indian flavors and spices are elevated by Zafran’s team of chefs to create modern classics. No Zafran menu would be complete without some must-try biryanis and this one is no different. From the melt-in-your-mouth lamb in the Rampuri Biryani to the peppery Calicut Prawn Biryani, the classic rice dish options at Zafran are next level.
Staples like the Dhaniya Jeera Aloo and Subz Masala get an overhaul this season as does the look and feel of the Chaat Platter, Veg and Non-Veg Kebab Platters and the Zafran Feast, all signature choices for regulars.
The sweet ending to one’s meal also gets that much sweeter with the addition of the Rose Milk Cake and Kesar Phirni, along with a new fresh look for the Zafran Rasmalai.
Refreshing mocktails on the menu are equally inventive including the Passionfruit Mojito and Tropical Paradise made with fresh mangoes.
“As a homegrown concept, we wanted to create a menu that would translate into a homage to our Indian roots. Our new menu is a celebration of the diversity coursing through the veins of India. Whilst there’s a mix of sought-after classics that stand strong, we give life to forgotten cuisines and ingredients and give way to a new narrative. The Zafran journey of discovery is now more exciting than ever, and we cannot wait to share this with our diners,” said Sajeev Chelattu, Brand Chef, Zafran Indian Bistro.
